Continuous conveyor belts that run between different fire compartments pose a potential fire hazard, as they create a direct pathway for fire and heat to spread. To reduce this risk, the fire-resistant hatch Firehatch Temperature (EI) has been developed. This system not only seals the wall opening but also prevents heat from spreading through the conveyor belts.

The hatch is connected to the fire alarm system (FAS). When a fire is detected, the relevant conveyor is automatically stopped and cleared. Immediately afterwards, the hatch closes automatically, forming an effective barrier against the spread of fire and heat.
