Newsletter 2021-1 Fireglide
Hoefnagels Fire Safety has added a few new door types to the series Fireglide fire-resistant sliding doors. The so-called Fireglide Temperature carries a CE mark and is approved for applications where protection is required for a maximum of 90 minutes. The sliding door is EI2 classified, which means that the door insulates thermally. If it is 1000 °C on the fire side of the door, it does not get warmer than 140 °C on the other side of the door. This makes the door very suitable for applications along an evacuation route. Depending on the type chosen, the guaranteed protection period is 30, 60 or 90 minutes.
Fire, smoke and intensive use
In addition to fire resistant, the Fireglide Temperature is also available in a smoke-resistant version. It protects at normal ambient temperatures (Sa) or up to 200 degrees (S200). One or two emergency exit doors can be included in the door area.
All door types are suitable for a high intensity of use, as they are also tested according to the EN 12605 standard. The heaviest door type has a C3 class and can open and close 50,000 times without compromising on protection. The lighter versions have a C4 class (100,000 cycles) or even a C5 class (200,000 cycles), depending on the total surface. This makes them extremely suitable for use in industry, offices, accommodation buildings and parking garages, among others.
