Nikkels construction company started building a new branch of Dekamarkt in Vaassen at the end of 2023. To protect both the supermarket and the people from the dangers of fire and smoke, Hoefnagels Fire Safety was asked to come up with a solution. A total of three large Firescreen® Temperature-P EI2 60 screens were hung, measuring no less than 12 metres wide! These screens not only block the flames, but also the heat radiation. Using our fire screens, this supermarket was divided into two fire compartments. In this way, the shop complies with fire safety regulations, while still feeling like one large open space to shoppers. The fire-resistant roller screens (Firescreen®) thus function as a flexible fire wall: they remain open and only close when the fire alarm system is notified.

Because the EI version of the screens is used, display cabinets and product racks, among others, are allowed to stand directly in the vicinity of the screen. This therefore provides space for shop fitting. In addition, the size of the two screens makes it quite special that they meet the EI60 fire resistance requirement.
